A Designer’s Eye: From Ten Years on Paper to Jewellery
Since I was 10 years old, I knew my destiny was to create. Although my first dream was architecture — a passion I still keep alive through my admiration for both classic and contemporary lines — I followed the path of Graphic Design, where I built a career for over 10 years.
Today, as a jewellery designer, I feel I have finally united these worlds. Each piece I design is like a small piece of architecture; an exercise in balance, form, and authenticity. Creating something from scratch is not just my job; it is my way of expressing who I am.
A Heart in the Amazon, Feet in the World
My identity is made of contrasts. I was born in São Paulo but spent 18 years living in Rondônia, in the heart of the Amazon. This experience shaped me. I had the privilege of visiting indigenous tribes and immersing myself in the richness of our flora and fauna. I am deeply passionate about everything that expresses "Brasilidade" — from our vibrant music to our organic art.
When I moved to Portugal in 2017, and later to England, this connection to my roots grew even stronger. I realised that carrying Brazil with me was my greatest mission.
Evolution: Motherhood and Purpose
DonaDona was born in 2019, but it was amidst the challenges of motherhood (I am a proud mother of three!) and the reflections of the pandemic that the brand found its true soul. It began out of necessity — due to my own allergies, I needed stainless steel pieces that were both elegant and safe for my skin.
Noticing a lack of hypoallergenic jewellery with real personality on the market, I decided to create my own. What started as a hobby quickly became a consuming passion.
Our Concept: Refined Roots
At DonaDona, I proudly use my Brazilian roots as my compass. I bring stones and materials from Brazil, but I refine every detail for the international eye. My goal is to blend the exuberance of Brazilian culture with British sophistication and minimalism.
Every piece is designed and handcrafted with deep respect for my heritage, ensuring that those who wear DonaDona feel the strength, beauty, and identity of something made with love, intention, and care.
